Let me start with a proverb that I just learned!

In one of the small towns on the way from Isfahan to Yazd, called Aqda, I saw a young man who was repairing one of the city’s oldest houses and turning it into an ecotourism center. Tired of traveling around the corner, I was watching him how building an adobe in traditional way for repairing the house. He patiently molded the clay mud that he had kneaded previously with a pleasant whisper.

when I got closer, I asked him questions about his work. “you should be not worry with all the adobe you’ve made so far”, I eagerly said. He laughed and answered: “these are not enough, I have to make bricks more and more!”

I laughed and after a short chat, when I wanted to leave, he said loudly, “The bricklayer knows meaning of thousand!” »

The story of some of the new technologies in the printing industry is just like the hidden sense seen in this proverb. You have to be a bricklayer to know how hard and troublous it is to make a thousand bricks!

The SIS system is one of those technologies that is so popular with older printing operators which a new generation of print operators will never understand it obviously.

SIS, as a system, specifies the entrance and the way of putting paper or cardboard into the press machine. This operation – the side register of paper or cardboard – in the old machines was done by the operator and using the “badge” of the printing machine.

One of the responsibilities and as well one of the biggest risks faced by the printing operator was manually adjusting this task during the process and If he was faced with badge scattering, all the printed sheets might be wasted and it would not be possible to provide printing services on them.

The SIS system is abbreviation of the term Sensoric Infeed System. it actually registers paper or cardboard electronically in the printer’s power supply with using a very fine motor and by embedding sensors. In fact, the engine controls the press machine very quickly and guides the cardboard into the press machine with unparalleled elegance and agility.

It is obvious, with SIS system in press machines, the preparation time for a print project will be reduce near to zero, and with the elimination of operator risk to continuously control the mark, the production speed will be much higher.

Another benefit of the SIS system is that it could be used with narrow cardboard because in older machines we had to use more wide cardboard to cover the risk, which means lower paper and cardboard waste.

 

These three benefits were enough to make the SIS system an integral part of the new printing industry equipment.

The path of new technologies always passes through the “productivity” way.

Higher productivity is the only key to opening all the doors to any new ideas, because in a growing industry, it is the power of ideas and innovation that can keep you competitive.
